Frequently asked questions
Why Imperative Content?
The word “storytelling” is thrown around a lot these days, begging the question, “What lies beyond storytelling?” It’s not enough for a company to tell its story, but to understand the “story beneath its story. Nike doesn’t just sell athletic shoes. Apple doesn’t just sell computers. And Trader Joe’s doesn’t just sell groceries. These companies have become beloved brands not only because of how they’ve forged admirable trust, culture, and growth, but because they have woven deeply impactful narratives around these three pillars of reputation. Doesn’t your business or organization deserve that same level of storytelling?
One of our founder’s favorite stories centers around the debate that emerged years ago about whether taking inexpensive MOOCs (Massively Open Online Courses) could replace going to college. The obvious issue driving such conversations had been the continuously escalating costs of pursuing higher education. While working as a speechwriter for the president of USC, the university’s leader would often say, “If you think the cost of an education is expensive, try ignorance.” At Imperative, we feel similarly: If one feels the price of good content is prohibitive, try miscommunication.
What services does Imperative Content offer? Imperative is here for all your content needs. Whether our clients need compelling speeches, presentations, and videos that grip their listeners, or blogs, social media posts, and op-eds that inform and inspire their readers, our mission is to provide consulting and content that make a difference.
What does Imperative Content have to say about AI, and does AI do your thinking/writing?
Imperative Content welcomes the emergence of any technology that elevates the human condition and amplifies the human voice. But it’s critical to remember that any healthy relationship between humanity and technology rests on technology being an extension of humanity, not a substitution. Among many things, AI is helpful with generating ideas, sourcing research, and designing visuals to support various elements of projects. At present, however, it is also prone to errors and is constrained by information that is publicly available. AI also doesn't know 1) your voice, 2) your business and 3) your relationships, so why would you let it speak for you?
